eVGA readies up another X58 motherboard

By: (more) | Motherboards News | Posted: May 24, 2010 11:02 am

eVGA is making room for yet another FTW series X58 motherboard in its already busy line-up which it calls the X58 FTW3 (SKU: 132-GT-E768-KR). We know of its existence thanks to online retailer NCIX.com listing it early for $342.39 on its U.S. site and $319.99 Canadian.

The listing gave a good amount of details on its specs which includes 8 phase CPU VRM, six DDR3 slots for triple channel support, three PCI-E x16 slots (running at x16, x8, x8 or x16, x16, N/A electrically as there is no additional bridge chip on this one) and carries support for 3-way SLI, 2-way SLI and CrossfireX.

The board includes both SATA 6Gbps and USB 3.0 support as well as giving a stack of USB 2.0 ports, a couple gigabit ethernet ports, 8 channel audio and EVBot's OC module.

Looking at the shots of the board, one of the real eye catchers is the choice of Northbridge cooler; quite a bit larger than the usual. It's designed to slant towards the CPU socket so as to give more clearance for larger CPU coolers.

With the early listing on NCIX, it must'nt be far away at all now from becoming widely available.
