Amazon and ASUS team up - Kindle for PC e-book app on select ASUS units

By: (more) | Laptops News | Posted: May 24, 2010 7:54 am

With Amazon.com offering a Kindle e-book software application for PCs and ASUS shifting a lot of its netbooks and notebooks through there as well, the two mobs have decided to help each other out a bit here.

As of today, select laptops and netbooks from ASUS, when purchased through Amazon.com will come pre-installed with Amazon's Kindle for PC application; including the Eee PC 1005PE and UL30.

This already gives food for thought on just what other discussions ASUS and Amazon are now having. Whispers of the Eee Pad are getting louder and with Computex around the corner some more concrete ASUS tablet news (ideal for e-book use) is inevitably on the cards.

Amazon and ASUS' PR announcing the deal can be read here.
