The Federal Trade Commission officially cleared the acquisition of AdMob, a startup mobile advertising firm. This acquisition opens the door for Google to expand their mobile advertising section for marketers, mobile, app developers, and mobile publishers.

"As mobile phone usage increases, growth in mobile advertising is only going to accelerate. This benefits mobile developers and publishers who will get better advertising solutions, marketers who will find new ways to reach consumers, and users who will get better ads and more free content," stated Susan Wojcicki, Vice President of Product Management in her Google Blog release this morning.

The acquisition is expected to be finalized in the next few weeks and then they will work to bring Omar Haroui, the current CEO of AdMob, and his team into the fold at Google.
