Intel senior VP discusses Smart TV from Google I/O event
Intel, Google, Sony, Logitech and others bringing Internet to the TV. Should YouTube be worried?
Today at Google I/O Intel showcased its upcoming Smart TV platform that uses special purpose built Intel silicon to allow developers to build so-called great applications and platforms to bring Internet to the TV. Google will especially be involved with its Google TV Ads program allows advertisers to place an advertisement on air for as little as 20 bucks.
In the video above, Eric Kim, senior VP of Intel's Digital Home Group, introduces Smart TV and what it's all about. I wonder if it will be too early for us to see any of these HDTV's or boxes at Computex early next month?
It's definitely something we'll be keep a close eye on.
