WD preparing SATA 6Gbps-ready 3.5-inch Caviar Blue series

Western Digital has more SATA 6Gbps mechanical 3.5-inch hard drives coming to market in the very near future. Tech Connect got the scoop on their upcoming Caviar Blue SATA 6Gbps series which will be availabile in capacities of 320, 500 and 640GB.

 

 

This family of drives are equipped with 32MB of cache and harness Advanced Format Technology (4096-byte sectors). The drives model names carry a suffix of AALX.

 

The Caviar Blue series is expected to be launched within the next month or so. We'll let you know as soon as we get hold of WD's announcement which is when we'll likely get details on pricing, too.
