Kid Computers releases new Kids Classmate Tablet PC

By: (more) | Laptops News | Posted: May 13, 2010 12:04 pm

Kid Computers has just announced its latest toddler proof tablet PC based on Intel's 2010 Classmate, aimed primarily at children from as early as Kindergarten through year 12.

It goes without saying that a ruggedized design was the basis for this tablet style netbook along with a spill-resistant keyboard. The unit weighs in at between 1.39 and 1.59Kg and packs a 10.1-inch (1024x600) kid friendly, optimized touch screen.

Internally it uses a 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and GMA 3150 IGP. Other features include a 1.3MP webcam, 10/100 LAN, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and 4-cell battery.

You can purchase the Kids Classmate Tablet PC with a copy of Windows XP pre-installed for $649 U.S.
