Sharp unveils 3D camera module
There is a lot of commotion in the 3D market today and most of that is in the home theater segment where 3D TVs and Blu-ray players are landing in droves. There is also a market building for devices that can record 3D images and video.

Sharp has announced a new camera module that will find its way into digital cameras and other devices later this year. The module uses two cameras that take images at the same time along with some processing power to make those images 3D.
The camera module features software to synchronize the timing of the video signals and to correct the positioning and transfer the data from the image sensors faster. The camera is the first in the industry capable of taking 720p images.
