Sascha of Netbooknews has been able to get hold of a bunch of info and pics on Sony's new Vaio P netbook series scheduled for launch on May 22nd.

As you can see from the shot above, it will be available in a range of colours. The display runs a resolution of up to 1600 x 1280. There is a built-in light sensor which measures ambient light and auto adjusts the display for optimal brightness (giving a helping hand in extended battery life).
Various speed Atom Z series (Silverthorne) processors can be chosen, ranging from the Z530 at 1.6GHz to the Z560 at 2.133GHz. Sony is also sticking with SSDs for the new-gen series, giving capacity options of 64, 128 and 256GB.
Other notable features include GPS, WiFi, 3G, WiMax and Bluetooth. Battery life can be anywhere from 5.5 to 11 hours, depending on the configuration of the model opted for.
All models are said to be shipped with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. As mentioned previously, they should start to be rolled out from May 22nd with the starting price equivilent to 665 €.
