By: (more) | Business, Financial & Legal News | Posted: May 6, 2010 6:02 pm

The Nintendo Wii was selling in droves for the first few years it was on the market when the devices were so hard to find. After the supply caught up with demand, profits for Nintendo from the console started to slump.

Sales of the Wii are now said to have dropped 21% in a single year's time. Sales of software have also dropped along with console sales.

The DS is said to have declined as well with a 12% drop. The DS sales will increase undoubtedly with the 3DS on the horizon. Perhaps a new Wii that has more to offer than a new color will be coming. The console needs HD graphics.
