Yet another player enters the solid state market; Taiwanese based mob, Mach Xtreme with its new MX JET series.

These drives are based on the latest controller from JMicron; the JMF612 which many will know while being superior to preceeding stutter plagued controllers, is still a little wanting in terms of performance compared to the likes of SandForce and Indilinx.

However, at the right pricing (yet to be disclosed) they could certainly have their rightful place in the market. The MLC based MX JET SSDs give max read and write speeds of 260MB/sec and 200MB/sec respectively, with a sustained write rate of up to 180MB/sec and maximum IOPS of 15,000.

The drives can be purchased in capacities of 64, 128 and 256GB. Mach Xtreme is providing a 2 year warranty on the series.

The official press release can be found here folks.
