FIC Announce New Partnership With ATI

Taipei 13 March 2002 - First International Computer, Inc has today confirmed that it has joined forces with ATI and will be incorporating the new ATI Radeon IGP chip in a number of products. FIC has access to the whole ATI product range. Future FIC products likely to benefit from ATI technology include desktop solutions and the much talked about range of mobile technology which is set to expand and develop significantly this year.

 

ATI is an established supplier of high quality graphics, video and multimedia solutions. FIC intend to implement ATI technology in a range of its own products which already enjoy a fine reputation around the world. FIC has already launched a formidable range of VGA cards incorporating ATI technology which have been receiving rave reviews from the international computer press. Also, this year at the CeBIT show in Hannover FIC will be exhibiting new motherboards which utilize the ATI Radeon IGP chipset.

 

Gene Sheu, president of the FIC Networking and Information Group commented, "Our partnership with ATI is a marvelous opportunity for FIC to develop its existing range of products, including the mobile technology field. FIC strive to produce high quality, good value solutions in competitive markets and our alliance with ATI will be a major factor in achieving this."

 

The Radeon IGP chip will give FIC products a host of ATI features including Pixel TapestryÔ, CharismaÔ Engine, HyperZ, HydravisionÔ and Video ImmersionÔ technologies. The implementation of ATI technology within FIC's handheld devices, mobile internet appliances and notebooks is a strong possibility in the near future.

 

K.Y. Ho, the ATI CEO, was very optimistic about joining forces with FIC, "I believe our new partnership with FIC will mean new and exciting market penetration opportunities. Companies like FIC are essential for us to further develop our position in the marketplace."
