Asus Eee Pad to fight iPad starting in late July

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Apr 23, 2010 3:04 pm

Everyone knew that once the iPad landed and didn't immediately flop, there would be a flood of tablets heading to the market. That flood has started and Asus has a couple tablet offerings coming this year.

Asus will have a tablet landing on the market in late July that runs Android and is called the Eee Pad. MSI is also getting a tablet ready that is called the M Pad set to land in Q3.

The Asus offering will use the Tegra chip from NVIDIA and has USB, webcam, and Flash support. The Eee Pad is said to cost as much as $510 in the US when it lands after being bundled with phone service. That presumably means after a contract.
