Some predicted that the iPad would be one of the biggest failures ever for Apple. As it turns out the device has proven to be very popular with consumers and is selling strongly.
Apple has now reported that the iPad is selling so well, that the launch of the device in other countries will be delayed. Apple reports that 500,000 iPads were delivered the first week and that demand was far higher than expected.
Because of the high demand, the company will not have the supply needed to meet demand for several more weeks. It has also taken many pre-orders for the 3G iPad versions. International pricing and pre-orders will now start at the end of May, a month later than originally scheduled.
