OCZ refreshes Colussus 3.5-inch SSD line with LT series

By: (more) | Storage News | Posted: Apr 12, 2010 7:24 am

Quickly following the launch of a couple new SSDs based around the very impressive SandForce-based controllers under their Agility and Vertex families, OCZ has also just refreshed its Colussus 3.5-inch SSD line-up with a new Colussus LT series.

These new LT variants use 34nm MLC NAND Flash memory chips along with a pair of Indilinx controllers for internal RAID and 128MB of cache on the SATA 3.0Gb interface.

OCZ stamps this new series with a MTBF of 1 million hours. The drives offer a maximum read/write rate of 260MB/sec with 15,000 IOPS on 4k random reads/writes. They are available soon in 120GB 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities for $399, $799, $1549 and $2875 respectively.
