The web isn't all that on the iPad

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Apr 7, 2010 11:12 pm

Despite being told that Flash is all that is missing from the iPad we have stumbled upon and even larger issue. It all happened the other day when we were reading some news about the iPad and how a lack of Flash did not hurt it.

We looked at the sites in question and realized that there are additional problems with sites like, YouTube, Flickr, Photo Bucket, etc. The problem is that unless you use e App designed for it you cannot use the site like you really want to because you have no access to the file system. You cannot open the Flickr web page and upload images, you cannot up load a YouTube video straight from the web either. It is this simple and glaring issue that will prevent the iPad from beating out even the lowest priced net book.

Even getting this news post up from the iPad required me to switch to a PC to complete. We can only hope that for those of us that do want to use the iPad as a mobile computing device the jailbreak for it comes soon and also offers better access to the file system.
