WD has polished the top-end of its Scorpio Blue series of 2.5-inch sized hard disks with the introduction of a 750GB model that's made possible thanks to 375GB sized platters (x 2).

This is a standard height 2.5-inch sized drive and will therefore fit into pretty much any 2.5-inch bay of a notebook, netbook etc. with the SATA interface. WD's press release also makes multiple mention of it being one of the quietest 2.5-inch mechanical HDDs on the market.

The WD Scorpio Blue 750GB (WD7500BPVT) are now shipping to distributors and resellers with an MSRP of $149 U.S. Dollars. These come with a three-year warranty.

You can learn more about the technology packed inside this new high-capacity 2.5-inch offering over at the official product page as well as the press release here folks.
