Apricorn updates Aegis Padlock Pro external HDD
External storage devices are rampant in the business world. The catch is that many of them are used to transport sensitive information to and from the office and if lost could pose a significant security issue.

Apricorn has announced that it has updated its Aegis Padlock Pro external HDD with a higher capacity and eSATA connectivity. The drive can now be had in up to 640GB. The versions using HDDs are shock mounted and a more rugged SSD version is available.
Data on the drive is protected with 256-bit hardware encryption and you have to type the PIN number into the keypad to access the data. The 640GB version of the drive costs $199 and the 256GB SSD version sells for $799.
