HP is the largest computer marker in the world. The company is always looking to keep ahead of the competition with new offerings both in the consumer and business spaces. HP has announced a new workstation for business users today.

The new machine is called the EliteBook 8740W, it is a large machine measuring in at 397.5 x 285.5 x 36.5 mm, and it has a gunmetal finish for better looks than the typical business focused machine. The screen of the rig is a 17-inch unit with WXGA+ or WUXGA display options.

Powering the rig is a choice of several Intel Core i5 or i7 CPUs. You can opt for up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 600GB HDDs. A SSD with up to 256GB is available. The machine can be ordered with a DVD burner or a Blu-ray drive and can be fitted with several NVIDIA Quadro FX graphics options. The rig will ship in April starting at $1999.
