Opera submits Mini browser for iPhone approval

By: (more) | Mobile Devices, Tablets & Phones News | Posted: Mar 23, 2010 5:08 pm

I for one hardly expect Apple to approve any alternate browsers for the iPhone. That doesn't mean browser makers won't try though. Opera says that it has submitted its Mini browser for approval on the iPhone.

That sound you hear is Steve Jobs laughing. I don't think Mini has a chance of being approved considering the long history of Apple killing any app that duplicates features it offers on the iPhone.

I wonder if Opera is counting on being denied and suing for anti-trust like browser makers did to Microsoft when IE was tied closely to Windows. That tact is sure to be taken by someone with a denied app eventually. Opera Mini promises much faster browsing, who knows if we will ever get to try it.
