Apple's iPad sales look strong straight out the gate
Comment | Print | Email to a Friend | Font Size: AAWith opening pre-orders for Apple's iPad commencing late last week, initial estimates indicate it's quite the attractive little piece of kit with over 120,000 iPads having been pre-ordered on the Friday of last week, roughly 50,000 of which were snapped up in the first two hours alone.
The stats also go into a bit more interesting detail in terms of what iPad configurations were being ordered. Not surprisingly, the majority were going for the WiFi version at 69%, with the remainder going for the 3G model, whilst an almost even number of purchases were made between the 16, 32 and 64GB models.
Let's hope Apple had this much faith in its success and there won't be folks out there being told to wait longer than April due to lack of initial supply.
