Next iteration of 3DMark will be DirectX 11 exclusive

By: (more) | Software News | Posted: Mar 12, 2010 2:47 pm

Anyone who has ever wanted to compare their e-penis to other gamers or do some benchmark record breaking (or at least try to) knows 3DMark. The benchmark has been around for a long time and the most recent current version is 3DMark Vantage.

Reports are coming in that the next generation of 3DMark will run on DirectX 11 machines only and will be "seriously awesome." It takes a true geek to get really excited about new benchmarking apps; I bet Chris Ram is wetting himself right now.

The app is said to be called 3DMark 2010 and has some cool tests that are said to be reminiscent of James Cameron films and Armageddon. I wonder if Bruce Willis makes a cameo. There is no ETA on the new benchmark.
