Intel prepping netbook version of its D510 dual-core Atom
Word's out that Intel is apparently preparing a netbook version of its Atom D510 dual-core processor for nettops. This would be particularly good news for potential netbook buyers if not for the fact the chip has been proven not to do anything noticable for performance over the previous D330 model. Where it does shine more is in power consumption, resulting in longer battery life.

The netbook version of this chip will be given a different name in the lineup, likely called the N500. No specifics in terms of when (or if) Intel will have it ready for OEMs just yet.
