Vantec readying up NexStar SATA to USB 3.0 adapter

By: (more) | Connectivity & Communications News | Posted: Feb 22, 2010 6:23 am

Vantec has given us the heads up on its upcoming NexStar SATA to USB 3.0 Adapter (codenamed CB-SATAU3) which does exactly as the name implies.

As you've probably already worked out, this device allows the user to connect a SATA based hard disk directly to it which can then be connected to a USB 3.0 port for SuperSpeed transfer rates.

Both 3.5" and 2.5" SATA HDDs of up to 2TB capacities are supported and it comes with an AC Adapter which I would imagine is only required in conjunction with larger more power demanding mechanical HDDs.

We'll have availability and pricing information very soon when Vantec officially announce the new device.
