As a result of embracing Fujitsu's hard drive division in October of last year, Toshiba has now introduced its first enterprise class 2.5-inch hard disk operating at 10,000RPM.

Drive capacities in the new series begin at 300GB, with options for 450 and even 600GB models. They are future proof offerings with use of the SAS 6Gbps interface, 16MB of cache and optimized power efficiency. When idle they only output 29 dBA of noise and are capable of reading data at up to 216MB/sec.

You can check out Toshiba's official announcement on the new MBF2600RC family of enterprise level hard disks here. Pricing and availability hasn't yet been disclosed.
