| Posted: Feb 6, 2002 2:22 pm

Abit have released a new range of products, called N3, which is a total Nvidia solution. This includes an nForce motherboard, Abit SP70 speaker system and Abit Siluro GeForce4 MX graphics card. I'll let the press release speak for itself:

Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., Wednesday, February 6th, 2002 - ABIT is proud to introduce its n3 Series, engineered to deliver mind-blowing performance to your PC. Utilizing the latest NVIDIAT technologies, ABIT's n3 Series consists of 3 NVIDIA-based solutions that feature a nForce-based motherboard, NVIDIA's Audio Processing Unit with a professional digital audio interface and ABIT SP-70 5.1 digital speakers, along with a state-of-the-art Siluro GeForce4T MX Series video card.

1. The Core: ABIT's NV7-133R

At the center of the n3 Series is the NV7-133R motherboard, based on NVIDIA's nForce 415D chipset and designed for the latest Athlon XP CPUs. The NV7-133R features 3 DIMM sockets that can support up to 1.5GB of unbuffered DDR memory, and dual 64-bit independent memory controllers that provide a maximum memory bandwidth of 4.2GB/sec. With a large memory capacity and huge memory bandwidth, your multimedia applications have never run smoother or faster.

ABIT's NV7-133R also delivers other next-generation specifications. Its HPT 372 controller includes 2 channels of bus master ports supporting Ultra DMA 33/66/100/133 as well as RAID 0, 1, and 0+1 RAID functions. Combined with the 2 native channels of bus master ports that support Ultra DMA 33/66/100, the NV7-133R features support for up to 8 IDE devices!

The NV7-133R also features ABIT's SoftMenuT for setting CPU parameters as well as on-board 10/100 LAN for high-speed network data transfers. Its integrated USB chip gives four ports of USB 2.0. With the NV7-133R's native 4 USB 1.1 ports (2 on-board, 2 via header), you've got a total of 8 USB ports available for ultimate flexibility for USB devices.

2. The Sound: NVIDIA MCP-D and ABIT SP-70

Delivering exciting audio functions to the n3 Series is the NV7-133R's on-board NVIDIA MCP-D, an Audio Processing Unit that features 6-channel audio and a total of 256 voices. The NV7-133R supports AC3 and real-time Dolby Digital encoding for a digital audio experience like no other. Games sound hyper-realistic, and DVD movies never sounded better. Hook up digital speakers or MD player via optical cable (not included) to the included professional digital audio interface that features 24-bit S/PDIF IN and OUT capabilities, and enjoy rich, digital audio from your PC.

As a speaker solution, ABIT's upcoming SP-70 5.1 Digital Speakers are tough to beat. The SP-70 is a perfect compliment to the n3 Series, delivering real-time Dolby Digital decoding. Enjoy cutting-edge audio with ABIT's n3.

3. The Vision: ABIT Siluro GF4 MX

The ABIT n3 Series features a new level of graphic realism with the ABIT Siluro GF4 MX Series. ABIT's Siluro GF4 MX Series video cards feature highly integrated NVIDIA GeForce4T MX GPUs and 64MB of DDR memory. All cards include NVIDIA Lightspeed Memory ArchitectureT II for up to 300% effective memory bandwidth, and nViewT technology for multiple display support. NVIDIA AccuviewT Anti-aliasing delivers outstanding visual quality without sacrificing performance, and integrated dual 350MHz RAMDACs support mind-bending resolutions and high-quality HDTV and DVD playback. Also, the integrated TV encoder enables high quality TV-Out functionality. With a wide range of features and models, you're sure to find the video card that's right for you to round out the n3 Series.

With the NV7-133R, NVIDIA MCP-D with ABIT SP-70 5.1 digital speakers, and Siluro GF4 MX Series video cards, ABIT's n3 Series brings a powerful total solution for your PC.

Speed. Sound. Vision. Unleash the three dimensions of n3.
