Specific details on AMD/ATI's upcoming lineup of Radeon HD 5000 Mobility GPUs have surfaced today which will be the first to bring DX11 capable graphics support to notebooks.

The new lineup comprises three different series; the HD 5800, HD 5600/5700 and HD 5400 aimed at the enthusiast, performance and mainstream markets respectively.

The folks at Tech Report have put together the following chart after getting hold of AMD's slide deck which gives a clearer picture as to the differences between the new models :-

AMD are promising a performance increase of 10 to 30% in games at 1920x1200 when looking at the Mobility 5870 compared to the Mobility 4870. Other improvements are in the way of power efficiency with superior engine and memory clock scaling, real-time switching between discrete and IGP for longer battery life, Eyefinity hexa-display capabilities and support for up to 1GB of GDDR5 RAM across the lineup.
