Intel unveils its 32nm Clarkdale CPUs w/ integrated GPUs in desktop and mobile form

Intel has got the ball rolling early into the new year with its latest Westmere architecture; today Intel lifts the curtain on its first desktop 32nm Clarkdale CPU with the inclusion of an integrated GPU.

Only a single model represents the Clarkdale launch today, with several more to arrive in the lineup very soon. This initial model is the Core i5-661 operating at a stock clock speed of 3.33GHz and carrying 4MB of L3 Smart Cache. As mentioned, this 32nm CPU is also a first in that it carries a second 45nm package which includes the PCI-E controller, memory controller and of course a graphics processor.

With the NDA having just been lifted, we have our full review of the processor now online with overclock results and plenty of comparative benchmark results to share. You can check it out here.

Below is a bunch of coverage of the new chip elsewhere around the web :-

There's also a bit of coverage online today which looks at the mobile side of things for Westmere. Codenamed Arrandale, these Core i3 and Core i5 mobile chips also house an integrated DDR3 memory controller and GPU and will be found in notebooks targeted more so towards the mainstream market segment. PC Perspective, Hot Hardware and Legit Reviews were able to get hold of ASUS' Arrandale powered K42F Notebook for full reviews today.
