In Asia and other countries there have been standards for mobile TV for a long time now. Devices like mobile phones and portable computers can pick up TV broadcast in formats specifically for portable devices.
LG has announced a couple new devices that will support mobile TV standards that are just now available in America. LG will be showing two products at CES in a week or so including a mobile phone and a portable DVD player that can pick up ATSC-M/H broadcasts.
LG also says that it will be offering the LG2160-A ATSC-M/H tuner chip to other manufacturers. Manufacturers specifically named include Dell and Kenwood. That means the new tuner chip will end up in notebooks and maybe car stereo equipment.
