LaCie readies up 2Big USB 3.0 dual-drive RAID enclosure

By: (more) | Connectivity & Communications News | Posted: Dec 18, 2009 9:41 am

LaCie together with Symwave have gone all out with a new external enclosure family that it calls the 2Big USB 3.0 dual-drive RAID.

The name says it all really, a box that can house two drives (up to 4TB total) with RAID support and USB 3.0 connectivity. Thanks to Symwave's latest dual SATA and RAID bridge controller, peak burst transfer speeds are said to be up around the 275MB/sec mark; very fast indeed.

Pricing hasn't yet been disclosed but we should hear more about it come CES next month.

For further information, check out the press release here folks.
