NEC unveils new NP510WS and NP610S short throw projectors

By: (more) | Displays & Projectors News | Posted: Dec 15, 2009 2:10 pm

I am a big fan of projectors for several uses. I like to watch movies with a really big image size and I like to play games on a giant screen. I have some fond gaming memories of playing Need for Speed Most Wanted with a 70-inch projected image on the wall.

If you like projectors, but your room is small, NEC has a couple new short throw options for you. The projectors are the NP510WS and the NP610S. Both offer the same short throw design and similar specs. They feature virtual remote control directly from a computer, closed captioning, vertical keystone, Auto Power ON, and 7-watt speakers.

Both projectors have an ECO mode that extends lamp life to 5000 hours while reducing noise and power consumption. Connectivity options include VGA, DVI, and an RJ45 connector is built-in. Both are set to ship in January with the 510 going for $949 and the 610 selling for $999.
