From Sand to Silicon - How processors are made (Animation)

By: (more) | CPU, APU & Chipsets News | Posted: Nov 20, 2009 10:08 am

Intel has just published a very interesting and easy to follow Making Of video which in animated form helps people better understand how a processor is made from scratch; the title of which is appropriately dubbed "From Sand to Silicon".

The 2 minute 11 second video includes some simple documentation and the use of descriptive and clear graphics which help explain the processes that Intel use in building their chips. It acts as an educational venture into the world of Silicon production and is a great bit of knowledge to be had for anyone remotely into the PC world.
