NVIDIA releases a pic of Fermi Running DX11

By: (more) | Video Cards News | Posted: Nov 18, 2009 6:01 pm

With the launch of the Radeon HD 5970 and AMD grabbing the single card speed crown from NVIDIA a few people are beginning to wonder where NV is in all of this. This is especially true after the big fud-storm over the Fermi mock up. Some are saying that NV has nothing to counter the 5xxx series at all let alone the 5970.

Of course you knew that NV would not sit back idly while AMD is grabbing so much of the spotlight. Hot on the heels of their announcement of the Fermi based Tesla cards we finally see what appears to be an NVIDIA card running the DX11 version of the Unigine Heaven Benchmark. This same picture is popping up all over the internet today. Brian Burke at NVIDIA has stated that it is a real Fermi Based consumer DX11 card. Still no official word on the date of the launch (although our sources now say early December)

It is nice to know that there will be some competition for AMD before the end of the year, let's just hope that it is a hard launch and not a paper one.
