Fresh images suggest AMD also working on a 5850 X2

Early engineering sample pixelated

The highly anticipated upcoming monster graphics card from ATI, the HD 5870 X2 (or officially speaking, HD 5970) has recently been spotted in pixelated form about the web, but for what is believed to be the first time, we now hear about a potential slightly cut down version; also being a dual-GPU weapon.

It's believed the pics of this interesting looking card over at Alienbabeltech are from an early engineering sample of the HD 5850 X2 (or HD 5950); also using two GPUs on a single PCB like its bigger brother. The pics aren't definitive as to the card being the aforementioned model and AMD themselves have denied the existance of a 5850 X2 coming to market, but that doesn't mean it won't happen.
