I like the idea of a centralized place to store all of the digital media like photos and videos that I have. As it is the stuff is on several computers scattered around my home and my wife never seems to remember which computer she put the stuff on. Envive has a new device that hosts video and other content for an entire home that is now shipping called the TheaterStation multi-zone digital media management system with centralized networked storage.

The machine can be had in three different form factors. One is a 1U rack mount system, the other is a 2U system, and the third is a tower machine. The 2U system can have up to 14TB of storage. The systems can all support up to 20 zones of independent audio and video.

The TheaterStation devices are compatible with Windows, Linux, and Mac computers. The devices have no need for a TheaterStation server. The devices support most all video formats that are available.
