Dell unveils Multi-Touch optical capable 21.5-inch monitor

By: (more) | Displays & Projectors News | Posted: Oct 22, 2009 11:52 am

A new 21.5-inch monitor from Dell has just been unveiled which in basic terms carries the same specs as the existing SX2210 model. However, the new SX2210T adds support for multitouch input whereby you can use your finger or a stylus. Dell state that it has a +/- 2.5mm accuracy across nearly all of the screen area.

The monitor offers a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 2ms response time, while integrating a 2 megapixel webcam and microphone for video conferencing. Users can choose from HDMI, DVI, or VGA video inputs, while the touch signal is communicated via USB.

You can find the SX2210T listed on Dell currently for $469. It should also be noted that the Multi-Touch functionality is only supported with Windows 7 Premium or higher at this stage.
