Our Download of the Day today is some New Hotfix patches for the current Catalyst driver. These are released for download regularly and often they introduce support for older AGP graphics cards or improve the game performance of Crossfire setups..

 

AMD offers Hotfixes for current Catalyst versions in order to improve the performance with DirectX 10, on multi-core CPUs or the Crossfire support in certain games. You can download the current Catalyst Hofix for AGP graphics cards from AMD's support website. The Catalyst Hotfix for Ati Stream protected video transcoding can be found in the respective kb-article. Logged in members of the PC Games Hardware community can also use the direct downloads below.

 

Just recently a new Hotfix for the Radeon HD 5800/5700 series has been released. The new version v8.66 from October 13, 2009 supports the following products:

 

Graphics Cards:

 

• ATI Radeon HD5870 series
• ATI Radeon HD5870 series
• ATI Radeon HD5770 series
• ATI Radeon HD5750 series

 

Operating Systems:

 

• Windows Vista 32-bit Edition
• Windows Vista 64-bit Edition
• Windows 7 32-bit Edition
• Windows 7 64-bit Edition

 

Furthermore a AGP Hotfix for the Catalyst 9.9 has been released some time ago. The fixed driver supports AGP graphics cards of the HD 2000, HD 3000 and HD 4000 series. It is intended for the 32 and 54 bit versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista - Windows 7 is not officially supported.
