Intel's hybrid CPU/GPU Pine Trail on demo at IDF

next-gen Atom - but where's the HD support? :(

| CPUs, Chipsets & SoCs News | Posted: Sep 23, 2009 7:24 am

Another interesting find at IDF today is that of Intel's Pine Trail CPU/GPU hybrid chip, the next-gen Atom which is going to be demonstrated in many different devices at the event.

The most commonly asked question when it comes to these little power-friendly chips is how well it'll handle 720p, or better still, 1080p content. Intel has stated that unfortunately Pine Trail still isn't good enough to take on the task at hand; though apparently should be able to do 720p, just. We have to wait for Intel's next-generation of these chips for Native HD support.
