TRENDING NOW: Intel's Core i7-5960X CPU has already been overclocked to 6.2GHz

New Pintrail 1.8GHz Atoms to hit in 2010

6.5 Watt TDP with hyperthreading

| CPU, APU & Chipsets News | Posted: Sep 9, 2009 2:18 am

Interesting, we were one of the first ones to report that the rumors about Pinetrail being delayed were nothing but FUD. It seems that the original rumors might have been nothing more than someone trying to hurt sales for Intel.

However all that aside we know that the Pintrail Atom CPUs will hit netbooks near you sometime in October. What we did not know at the time is that there will be a couple of models in coming out in 2010 that will be even more impressive than those launching in October.

One of these is the Atom N470 will be a 1.83GHz CPU with a 667MHz FSB, Hyperthreading support and much more.

It will of course have the GPU integrated into the CPU and will also be able to run under a 2 chip solution. If the information about this new CPU is accurate we will see a 6.5 Watt TDP. This is pretty amazing considering the CPU houses the GPU as well.

2010 is looking to be a very interesting year in computing.
