GeForce 300 pops up in Windows Update driver

GeForce 310 plus a number of mobile GPUs

| Video Cards News | Posted: Sep 8, 2009 1:51 pm

Remember how we said that nVidia might have the GT300 out soon? We also mentioned that nVidia is planning a press even on the same day as AMD. Well there are some interesting items that have popped up in the latest nVidia driver release from Windows Update that might actually support those rumors.

According to the information in the INF file there is a new listing for a GPU going by the name of NVDIA GeForce 310. But this is not the only new GPU. Included in the list is a number of Mobile GPUs. Now as we know that nVidia likes to rebrand its mobile line heavily these "M" GPUs could be an older generation and not the new GT300 that has been the source of so much speculation.

Still you have to wonder about the first listing - NVIDIA_DEV.0A66.01 = "NVIDIA GeForce 310". Well we may find out exactly what that is on September 10th.
