TRENDING NOW: Windows 9 logo teased, with Microsoft's next OS 'coming soon'

PS3 Slim now supports Dolby True HD and DTS HD

Full Bitstreaming of the audio

| Video Cards News | Posted: Aug 21, 2009 2:04 pm

Good news for gaming and video audiophiles. The new Sony PS3 Slim has some interesting added features.

After some testing there is news that the new PS3 Slim fully supports bitstreaming of the Dolby True HD and DTS HD Master Audio Codecs. This means that your game console no longer has to decode the audio before sending it to your receiver.

Instead the actual audio stream is sent out making the reproduction cleaner and also removing some overhead from the PS3.

While many people will never be able to hear the difference there are a few that demand (and look for) the highest level of audio reproduction. Sony has not given it to them.
