More Core i5 boards are popping up like weeds. What is interesting is that the latest ones to show up are all high-end enthusiast level boards that actually equal the pricing of some of the Core i7 boards.

The latest comes from EVGA and is part of their FTW series of boards. Looking over the pictures the E657 FTW is a nice looking board. There are some things that make me wonder though. There appear to be two 8-pin Aux power headers in the upper left of the board. This is in addition to an oddly placed 4-pin Molex connector right above the PCI-e x2 slot.

These items raise some interesting questions about how power is distributed to the board and the need for this type of extra power.

The Core i5 is due out soon and I am sure we will see a flood of reviews on this board when that happens. I just wonder if it will look like the board we are seeing today.
