Simple Typo to blame for IE Flaw

By: (more) | Internet Browsers News | Posted: Jul 30, 2009 3:45 pm

Remember the IE exploit we told you about the other day? Well it was all due to a simple typo. I know that during World War II the phrase Loose Lips Sink Ships was very popular meaning that you had to be careful with what you said and did.

I just never thought that this would include leaving a gaping hole in an OS component that would allow a "bad guy" to take control of your computer.

If you are interested to know what the typo was; well it was a single character out of place. The culprit was an ampersand yup the "&".
So next time you code something (I am sure you do that every day) remember to count your &'s and make sure you do not have too many.
