Apple's Time Capsule gets 2TB of space

By: (more) | Cases, Cooling & PSU News | Posted: Jul 30, 2009 3:03 pm

Apple has increased the capacity on its Time Capsule product. This was leaked about four months ago when a product shot showed the 2TB label on the box.

But other than the larger capacity and larger price dose it bring anything new to the table?

From the look of it, no. The 2TB Time Capsule is still the same Wireless router and NAS that the other versions were. Granted it is a little more reasonable with the increased capacity. This is even more true since it is supposed to backup multiple systems.

The one thing that would worry me is the statement about security, Apple talks a lot about security but they do not have the reputation to back it up when it really counts.

Still if you are a Mac owner and are looking for a Wireless NAS to back up to this one is probably as good a choice as any.
