By: (more) | Posted: Jun 17, 2009 5:25 pm

Intel's Larrabee might have a slight delay in its launch. Instead of coming out in late 09 it is looking more like a 2010 lanch.

The reasons are not completely clear but it seems to be something to do with the drivers for the new x86 based GP-GPU.

if there are no further delays we can expect to see Larrabee in 1H 2010.

Larrabee delayed until 1H 2010

It all indicates that the project will launch in 2010, most likely in 1H of 2010 if we don't see any further delays and we've heard that software support and drivers are the number one reason of this delay.

Intel is still committed and serious about the discrete graphics / computation chip based on X86 instructions, and sooner or later we are sure that they will get things right and put a lot of pressure on Nvidia and ATI to try even harder
