AMD Readies Two More 45nm Processors

By: (more) | CPU, APU & Chipsets News | Posted: Jun 17, 2009 6:21 am

AMD is set to introduce two new processors, both of which are 45nm parts.

The Phenom II X3 740 will be a 3.0GHz part, featuring 6MB of cache and a TDP of 95W. The 740 is a 200MHz bump up from the Phenom II X3 720 which is already on the market.

AMD's quad-core lineup will be getting a new addition with the Phenom II X4 820. This chip clocks in at 2.8GHz and sports the same 6MB cache and 95W TDP.

If the information is true, expect both of the chips to come in priced for the sub-$200 market.
