A few weeks ago Acer said that Windows 7 would be available on October 23rd this year it it seems they weren't fibbing one bit.

Microsoft has finally announced the official release date for Windows 7, and many are ready to welcome it immediately when it hits the shelves on October 22nd. While Acer wasn't fibbing, it seems that they won't have systems available on launch day per their own statement.

 

Microsoft wasn't kind enought to enlighten us with pricing information for the launch but you can bet that prices will be very similar to that of Vista.
