HP Says 70,000 Batteries Need To Come Back

HP has voluntarily issued a recall on 70,000 batteries after there have been two reports of the batteries overheating and rupturing.

The recall affects 21 different models of laptops that were purchased between August 2007 and March 2008. HP recommnets that consumers with the affected batteries should stop using them immediate and contact HP for a new battery, free of charge. Batteries affected will have one of the following barcode labels(^ in the code can be any letter or number):

65035^^BGU^^^^
65035^^BGV^^^^ 67059^^V8U^^^^

Those needed to seek out a replacement battery due to the recall will need to visit the HP Battery Replacement Program Website.
