nVidia releases OpenGL 3.1 Beta drivers

By: (more) | Posted: May 7, 2009 6:58 pm

There are some new nVidia drivers out today with BETA support for Open GL 3.1. This is good news for many content creators as the new standard is supposed to me more powerful and flexible than ever before (at least that is what the PR on it says)

The driver are also available for Linux and while they do not claim any improvements in gaming they certainly should give a boost to any openGL 3.1 capable applications you might be running.

Grab them here

You need one of the following graphics cards to get access to the OpenGL 3.1 and GLSL 1.40 functionality:

GeForce 8000 series or higher; Geforce G100, GT120, 130, GTS 150, Geforce GTS 250, GeForce GTX 260, 280, 285 and 295, any ION based products.

Notebook
Quadro FX 360M, 370M, 570M, 770M, 1600M, 1700M, 2700M, 3600M, 3700M
