Linux Users Finally Reach 1% Of All PC's

Linux powered PC's have finally reached a milestone, breaking the 1% mark amongst computer users.

 

In April, 1.02% ofpeople browsing the web were using a Linux based machine. Apple also gaine significant ground, gaining almost 2%. This means that about one of ever ten computer users is running Apple's OS X.

Microsft lost its share of the market as always, slipping down to 87.9% of all users. Many will blame Windows Vista to the drop of almost 3%, while others will quickly point out the success of Apple's "I'm a Mac" commercials.

 

Microsoft is certainly hoping that Windows 7 will at least slow the decline. One thing is for certain though, users are becomming aware that there are most certainly viable alternatives to Windows's based PC's.
