GIGABYTE P55 board photographed

At the Gigabyte Open Overclocking Competition in Los Angeles, which was held over the weekend, GIGABYTE decided to take the veil off of its new P55 board.

 

The crew over at PC Perspective managed to get some good shots of it but did say that there is not going to be a ton of new features for the new Chipset and Board.

There isn't a lot dramatically new to this motherboard or chipset, but we can see a few interesting things. First, the board sports only four DDR3 memory slots because the Core i5 processors will only have a dual channel memory controller. The LGA1136 processor socket is a bit smaller than the the LGA1366 for the Core i7 CPUs. There are what looks to be 10 SATA ports on the right hand side of the motherboard and three PCI Express x16 slots (likely a single full x16 and a two x8).
